I’ve used them before. They work really well when trying to zip tie a friend’s car shut. After a Friday night show a while back, another crew member and I grabbed one of the ties, tracked down a friend of ours in the cast, and zip tied her arms so she couldn’t move them at all.

She hobbled around the backstage areas for about 20 minutes before she found someone who would cut the tie off of her. I mean, there were about two dozen cast members, another dozen crew members, and at least a dozen people helping with costume and makeup that night — all capable of cutting the tie off but everyone was laughing too much to be trusted to wield a scissors.

I have seen riot police use similar ties to cuff lots of rioters and whatnot…
